• A gentleman dressed in formal attire - this fashion plate is the only male fashion plate published in the entire run of the Ackermann's repository. While the first years of the repository run did feature articles which were definitely addressing the interests of the gentlemen the later years focused towards female audience, making the repository one of the first publications recognizing the growing relevance and financial independence of the female portion of the population.
